I have loved fly fishing since I was introduced to it by my brother-in-law Joe, almost 30 years ago now. It's a hobby that just never gets old, like I am getting some days.

I started fly fishing for brook trout and had a blast doing that for years. I also fished a lot of Atlantic salmon but nearly as much as I did brookies.

But about 15 years ago I started fly fishing for smallmouth bass and chain pickerel. That made my fishing days so much more exciting. I just get a lot more out of fly fishing than any other type of fishing.

I don't want you to think I only fly fishing and turn my nose up at other types of fishing. Ha, I would go fishing in my bathtub if the lighting was right.

What fish species do you fly fish for?

It's too bad he had a stroke, that really sucks to lose a hobby like fishing. I had a heart attack that caused enough damage that it took me 4 years to recover enough to go fly fishing again. They were the worst 4 years of my life, but I am alive and able to do it again.

For me it's the joy of fly fishing that keeps me young, even if my heart was old before it's time.

Fly fishing, or fishing of any kind actually is the great hobby.

Practice plenty of catch and release so our kids and grandkids will enjoy it too.

Ah yeah, steak and shrimp, that's my idea of good eats. Mmmmm

I could eat that every day of the week. Then I would have to eat an apple a day to keep the doctor away.

i think steak everyday would kill you evern with an apple...thats for the young bucks....

we need greens to stay alive..

Not a problem with the greens. I get lots of green weeds for salads when I am fishing pickerel and bass. I am even willing to share my salads.
