Got a call from Fisibook Member fr8hlr yesterday from down at Hatteras Island NC. He went out on a guided inshore trip with Fishing Guide Scott Caldwell who guides out of Teaches Lair Marina. They went out and killed the Redfish/Red Drum on Light Tackle. Using 8lb test and 6ft light to medium action rods. What a Blast! Scott found the Big Reds schooling on a flat and they all started casting into the school with KastMaster Spoons. As soon as the spoons hit the water they were hooked up. After they caught their limit plus alot more and were worn out from the fun. They left the school even though they were still biting in search of some Speckled Trout. They started casting Curly Tailed Jigs and bouncing them off the bottom but no Speckled Trout were found. They did catch a few Flounder though. Then they made their way to a shipwreck near Drum Inlet on the Southside of Ocrecoke Island. Here they found a big school of nice Bluefish which they casted the same Curly Tailed Jigs and hooked up on about every cast. I know they slept good that night. Been there-done that! I've fished with Scott for years and he will put you on the fish!
