This weekend the Striper fishing got a little better on Lake Norman. The water temps dropped to around 59* and on Saturday the bait was schooled up in huge balls. The Striper have been hard to find this fall but we were able to locate a few schools this weekend. Saturday the bite was okay using Leadline and all kinds of baits like Spoons, HuddleStoneDeluxe Swimbaits and Bucktail Jigs. Most of the fish were in the 20 to 40' range feeding on huge schools of bait. Early in the morning they follow the bait back in the creeks and make their way out to the deeper water by sundown. Sunday I found them in the back of Skipper's Creek and stayed on them all the way out to the main river channel. I must have caught between 20 or 30 fish the entire day. Not all Striper but I stayed very busy and had a blast. Which I would have done whether I caught a fish or not as long as I was on the water. FISI FISH ON!!
