You are about to move to Fishin Heaven. The rivers around there are awsome! They have HUGE STRIPERS all over the Tn area. Just look at ShadNasty, Sbilly and Mofishin's galleries to see the big fish they have caught there. Mofishin is big on Smallmouth Guide, ShadNasty is a Striper Guide and Sbilly is a Pro Bass Angler.

You are in a good spot, you have J.Percy Priest - great lake near nashville, you can be on the water in 15 mins.  Good bass lake, decent smallmouth lake and a great crappie lake. Best is of course end of february to july. early throw red or orange traps and #5 shad raps. Can be a decent ledge lake if yoiu find the right ledges. Smallmouth are from hobson pike bridge area to the dam. Best creeks for them are Hamilton creek and suggs creek. Best guide in town is www.briancarper.com.  30 minutes is Old Hickory which is a fair bass lake, you will catch numbers but big fish are hard to come by.  You also have tims ford 1.5 hrs - good ky spot and big smallie lake, Center Hill is also a very good ky spot lake and smallie. Both are deep and generally clear.  Flukes, jigs, jerkbaits and small spinnerbaits.  Bomber 200 in rootbeer rules the day.

Then you must get to Guntersville 2hrs away in AL.  awesome lake from now thru spawn, red traps in the grass off th main river channel. sexy shad jerkbaits - royal shad are the go to colors.

Join a bass club to learn a lot more.  F-3 bassmasters was my old club. Call Ron Taylor for info 270-535-1644 - tell him i sent you. they are a great group of guys to fish with.
